Why #inclusionmatters

For years I have used the term, #inclusionmatters.  I have made it my mission, as an advocate for the intellectually disabled, to be their voice and ensure that they are an equal part of our society.  We have been fortunate in our school district to have administrators and staff that have made inclusion a priority.  This video below is a prime example of what happens when inclusion is done right.  Most of the junior high boys in the video below have no personal relationships outside of school with someone that has special needs.  School is where they are meeting those that are different than them and it’s exactly why inclusion is so valuable.
